How do we define single use vs. multi use virtual cards?

A single-use card is a card which can be used for one successful authorization only, after which the card gets permanently blocked. Note that, if the authorization is declined, the card is not blocked. However, if the authorization is canceled, or the transaction refunded, the card will not be reactivated to spend the extra money.

By opposition, a multi-use card does not get blocked after the first successful authorization. It only expires after a period of time defined by the issuer.
