How do I search for a payment in Essentials?

In your Essentials, you can look up information about all payments processed in your stores. To see a list of all payments: 

  1. Log in to your Essentials account.
  2. Go to Payments

Here you have an overview of all your transactions. For each payment, you can search or filter on 

  • The PSP reference; this is an unique 16 character string given to each payment by Adyen
  • The merchant reference; this is a unique reference given by the Franchisor to each payment
  • The date of the transaction
  • The amount of the transaction, 
  • The payment method used for the transaction, 
  • The status, risk score, etc.

If a payment is not appearing under payments, this means the authorization is still pending.

This can happen when:

  • For an ecommerce transaction: the shopper has been redirected to an external page to complete the authorisation, which hasn't been finalized. This is common for local payment methods (such as iDEAL and Dotpay), and for 3D Secure payments.
  • The transaction has been processed but the funds haven’t cleared yet. This applies to bank transfers, or a payment method where the shopper needs to make the payment offline (Boleto Bancário, for example).
