A dispute or chargeback is exercised by a cardholder (through their bank) to claim back an already settled payment. It can be exercised for various reasons out of which Fraud is the most common used.
Once a chargeback is booked, the funds are debited from your account and you can either:
- Accept the claim
- Challenge it by uploading supporting documents
We can notify you of incoming disputes through system messages or you can monitor them from the Risk -Disputes section of the Adyen Customer Area.
