Why does my POS say "Credentials invalid"?

If your POS terminal shows the error Credentials invalid, please double check that your login credentials are correct:

  • Make sure that you are using a webservice, also referred to as API credentials. This is different from a user used for the online customer area.
  • Make sure that you are using the right API key. 
  • For more information on how to retrieve credentials and generate a new API key, refer to: API credentials


If you trying to login into the Adyen iOS App, please take note of the following:

  • Check that your Merchant account, Username and Password have been entered correctly. These login credentials are case sensitive.
  • If you are trying to log in to a TEST account, make sure the username ends with :0xfacefeed
  • If you are trying to log in to a LIVE account, make sure your username does not end with :0xfacefeed
